You’re welcome. As for the AI fight, thanks for the morale boost. I’m “spitting into the ocean”, though. AI is taking over bit by bit like metastasized cancer. Already doing copywriting and online and phone help. Sheesh! We gotta at least keep it out of literature as much as we can.

I don't think it's ever going to fully take over literature. The more I see of AI, the more I realise that while it's probably going to end up being really good at things like copywriting, it's probably not going to truly replace the creativity and innovation of the human artist. If you're writing sincere, genuine fiction, your writing will always have a place in the world, even if that place is smaller than it otherwise would've been.

That’s certainly a positive view and, in part, I agree. The issue is all the rhinestones (AI-generated junk) among the diamonds (human created). It’s like MP3 vs. WAV files. These days most folks can’t tell the difference. We humans just have to stay committed in our writing and reading to what is human created. I dare any AI to come up with my characters and the actions I put them through. Har! Best wishes on your human writing.

Thanks for this! Lost of wonderful stories here! Though my own Substack is mainly discussions of speculative fiction, I do have some horror stories there as as well. And two of my horror stories were published in Judith Magazine. https://judithmagazine.substack.com/p/oaks?utm_source=publication-search

Glad to make the list!

The essay is the first in a series, which has continued, but will not be completed until Monday. (And that if I don't get another digression.)

Thanks for the mention! I'd send/post/repost a story if I knew where and how. Haven't worked out how to join in any of the Monday/Tuesday/Friday things I'm tagged in.

The way most work is that you post your story on your account page here and then let the host of that day know in a Note or Chat message. For me, I just vacuum up the stories from those I see here. Just subscribed to you, so I’ll see your stories from now on. I’ll be posting frequently over the summer, so no rush. And I have you listed, so that should get people headed your way hopefully.

I'm looking forward to more of this. I write horror and am running a month-long challenge called 30 Days of Fright.

Have to ask if you use AI in any way (text, images, editing, etc.).
