Did Macabre Monday bite the dust? I see Mystery Monday in its place....do we have a day for "horror" genre now? Thanks! :)

Macabre Monday now hides out in Chat. You have to send your link to the hosts there. Then one of them posts the various links in an article. You have to subscribe to them to see it. Mystery Monday is fairly new and open in Notes.

Thank you! Can you also tell me a bit about the Readers/Writers Wednesday? I know you host it, but what is the content - wondering what might be submitted here? Thanks again for your help! :)

I just updated the post. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Oooh. I should’ve changed that. It’s the day I was posting my list of writers, which I will now be posting on Tuesdays (A thru M) and Wednesdays (N thru Z). But feel free to tag me in any new posts on that day.

Personally, I just run through the items posted in chat without waiting for the post that contains some of them. It's relatively easy to do that.

I suspect the issue with tags that drove MM to stop using them was just a glitch, a feeling reinforced by the fact that I've yet to get extra notifications when I'm tagged in something, just the notification that I'm tagged. But I don't think anyone is testing to see what's happening...

Yeah, I think the hosts of MM overreacted to 2-3 complaints. Sigh. I have no idea how to find their chat and don’t want to. Me and Chat don’t get along well. When I started using social media in July 2009, I quickly found that there were people who wanted to spend time going back and forth on inane things. Time waster. Sigh.

It’s not that hard to find their chat by going to chat window and just scrolling down. On Macabre Monday, it’ll be near the top. That particular thread just has people posting links to what they put up—no inanities at all.

I think I mentioned this before, but I actually see more material now than I did with the tagging. Either there was something else wrong with the system, or not everyone was tagging me. Of course, it would take newbies time to figure out who to tag, but even more experienced people might miss someone if they didn’t check their lists regularly.

Chat is the dark alley of Substack. I’d rather stay out in the open on Notes. And I always saw people’s posts even if they didn’t tag me. Now I see none. Others have mentioned the disappearance, too. Total over-reaction to a few complaints.

I get the impression it was more than just a few. But in any case, I hope the situation is revisited at some point. I still suspect it was a glitch, not an intended change in how tagging works.

There are a lot of writers out here, so no wonder there's a clog in the Substack pipeline. Let's hope for an equal or larger number of readers.

Yeah, but I want to continue the list some way. I'm seeing newbies on here who keep asking "Where are the writers?" We're all here. Just tough to see us. Have a great writing day! I'm all set to begin review of hubby's edits on one of my WIPs.

I keep trying to get #fantasyfriday to catch on, but to avail.

Ah well, thanks for putting all this together, A.C !

Oh dear! Let me add that to the post. It might help. Sci-Friday tends to dominate that day.

Suggestion: find some fantasy writers on my list and invite them to participate. Sadly, when the hosts of Macabre Monday stopped tagging people in Notes and instead had participants post their links in Chat, it confused people. You need to let them know how things work.
