Discussion about this post

I had a discussion with a highly intelligent person, who said I was off the rails to state that I am AI free, since I use a computer and the internet. He wanted to know if I wrote with pen and paper-he never asked about my visual art, which btw is also without AI-because as he stated it was using AI if I did anything other than post.

I stated that non-mainstream people like myself have no real option if they wish to make their efforts visible. Its internet and computers or piles of unseen work taking up space.

Thus, to concede his point, I think he was correct to say that nothing that appears online is truly AI free, yet at the same time I do believe that there is a qualitative difference between those who rely on AI for everything from audio to images, to content of writing and those who rely on inner creative processes.

Since even as I write this, AI is ripping me off, I can state unequivocally that AI is parasitic, anti-creative, and frankly criminal. My work is my own, and while I certainly have my influences and my examples to aspire to, the effort with all creative ventures I believe is authenticity.

AI by its own very nature corrupts authenticity, as there is no core self learning and expressing itself in AI sourced work.

I mention this as a sort of public response to those who state that AI is now at the heart of everything.

Stay human.

Love to see all the names on this list! Thanks for keeping me on. I'm also still devotedly AI-free. Won't even use Grammarly or ProWritingAid and haven't for some years. I just taught myself to get MUCH better at editing and, of course, I hire a human editor and a human cover designer.
