Premier Issue of the Freelan Gazette Coming September 1st, 2023!

Dive into the life of this fictional yet very possible nation

Announcing the launch of The Freelan Gazette, chockfull of news about the free nation of Freelan, interviews with key Freelanians, reviews of the various books in the Freelan series, and ads for products and services from companies in Freelan. The first issue will go out September 1st of this year.

The trend toward authors putting out newsletters has reached such a fevered pitch, that these newsletters have become useless as marketing tools (imagine streets lined with people shouting out about the book(s) they wrote – a cacophonous din that becomes white noise) and can, in fact, drive would-be readers away. I had to unsubscribe from several such newsletters because I didn’t care to read about the author’s home life, health issues (although I feel badly for them), latest recipe for some alcoholic beverage, or playing with their pets. In short, there was too much “author” in these newsletters. And very little about their book(s).

And that realization led me to put out the gazette, a way to show what’s going on in the book series in progress. It is a different world in a way. Not like fantasy or science fiction genres. This world is where …
